Our attendance at the Sydney Disability Expo on the 4th of December has highlighted to us that a number of organisations have clients who have questions and require advice about representation and decision making. As a result, are offering free drop in consultation sessions to interested organisations in January and February.
These consultation sessions would give clients the opportunity to bring in their documents, and ask for assistance when navigating complex and high stakes decisions. The sessions will aim to provide clients and their families with avenues for resolution to these issues, and would be an opportunity for them to ask any questions relating to wills, estates, and succession. Some of the topics we would be willing to assist with are:
- Establishing decision making support arrangements;
- Appointing personal representatives;
- Navigating NDIS plan representative appointments;
- Wills, Powers of Attorney and Guardianship;
- Changing housing;
- Changing professional advisers;
- Superannuation benefit nominations; and,
- Self Managed Superannuation Funds and any other trust deeds.
Finding legal assistance can often be difficult and costly, and at Autonomy First Lawyers we believe it is important that ageing and vulnerable clients have an easily accessible opportunity to enquire about these high stakes matters. We try and simplify the complexity of the decision or situation faced by clients so they can better understand the consequences of the decisions they are being asked or trying to make.
If you or your organisation would like us to extend this offer to your clients, please contact us and we’d be happy to help present these problem solving forums in the new year.
