Keeping Connected: Social Health and Ageing
October 27 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm AEDTFREE
Social isolation as we age is an accelerating issue, particularly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At Autonomy First, we have been working with Relationships Australia New South Wales to make sure that we have a strong alignment of values, and safeguards for the decision-makers. Our colleagues at Relationships Australia New South Wales have encouraged us to expand these supports to the mental health of our ageing clients, and have alerted us to an event taking place this month.
Autonomy First will be in attendance at the social health and ageing forum presented by the Older Persons Mental Health Service in collaboration with the Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service. The event will address key concerns regarding the mental health of our ageing population. In particular, the idea of connectedness is emphasised, both intergenerationally, and following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Autonomy First believes this will be an invaluable opportunity to further delve into the issues that face our ageing clients, and encourage carers, clients, and support staff to join us at this session.
It will take place on Wednesday the 27th of October from 10am to 12pm, and tickets are free.
