National Dementia Conference
June 23 @ 9:00 am - June 24 @ 4:00 pm AEST
The 13th Annual National Dementia Conference will bring together a host of leading experts to discuss best-practice strategies and initiatives for improving quality person-centred care across multiple settings, and will also detail the latest research, therapies and treatments, innovation, and technologies from around the world.
Speakers will include Autonomy First’s Michael Perkins and Dr Jane Lonie, presenting a session entitled Creating the Capacity & Capability Clinic. The session will discuss:
- The importance of early intervention and making sure familiarity of surroundings is preserved as a context for managing the declining years of the affected person.
- Using clinic operational experience to build the clinic and the balance between the neuropsychologist and a legal perspective.
- Importance of bringing cognitive decline under management early and of empowering the will and preference of the person living with the cognitive disorder.
The 2022 event presents a unique opportunity to explore what’s possible and embrace change within this critical and growing sector. The National Dementia Conference will continue to bring together those from the home and community aged care setting, as well as those working within the acute and allied health sector.
