FREE
National Carers Week event for carers planning for the person you care for

This is an online event during National Carers Week 2021, with online events from 10 October 2021 until 16 October 2021.

For full details of the week, organised by Carers NSW, see see National Carers Week | Carers NSW.

Starting the future planning process with the person you care for‘ is an information session for family and friend carers to provide practical tips for starting the future planning process with a person living with a cognitive impairment. It also aims to help professionals and service providers engaged in helping these clients.

This one hour session will include practical, action-focused content aimed at carers of people with cognitive impairment, looking at key considerations, steps and resources to make future planning straightforward and person-centred.

Planning for the future can be complex for carers, and it is critical to involve the person you care for in decisions that affect them. Hear from a panel of experts about the key things to consider when planning for the future at this evening webinar designed for carers supporting a family member or friend living with a cognitive impairment.

You will require access to a computer with speakers (a microphone and video camera are a bonus). This session will be delivered using the ZOOM platform. Carers NSW will send you instructions about how you can join the session on the day before each session.

This event will begin at 6.00pm.

The expert panel will include Michael Perkins of Autonomy First Lawyers, Megan Frost of Relationships Australia NSW, April Creed and Rebecca Glover (ExSitu) and Petrina Coventry (GPex and SAHMRI).
