Do you want to understand death better? There are big gaps in what we know about what’s possible and necessary at the end-of-life. Research shows people want more information about this taboo subject but don’t know how to find it.

Autonomy First Lawyers is delighted to sponsor Understand Death Better, an event by GoodGrief!, to answer your questions and help you understand death better. Join author Margaret Rice in a free Q&A session at the Ron Dyer Centre, 42 Ridge St, North Sydney on Thursday 1 June from 7-9pm. Refreshments will be served.

This event is FREE to attend but places are limited so please book online to guarantee your seat.

Do I want to be resuscitated if I suffer a medical event?
What’s legal?
Will I be able to say ‘no’ to more treatment?
How do I develop a plan to make sure my medical requests are followed?
Do I need a will?
Will my power of attorney be relevant at a hospital?
How do I let people know my wishes?
How do I guarantee they’ll be followed?
Do I need an advance care directive if I enter a nursing home?
What do I need to know to make the end of life better?
What help is there to manage my grief?

“None of us are getting out of life alive is true and confronting. But we rarely talk about this shared human reality. This important presentation, Understand Death Better, will explore in a clear and compassionate way the issues around preparing for death, supporting each other as we face our own death and accompany those we love, the process of grieving, and the choices we have so we can die with dignity. See you there.” Rev Dr Richard Leonard SJ, Parish Priest, North Sydney.
